Home Fire Safety
Fire travels and follows open paths in search of more oxygen. Sleeping with bedroom doors closed will help slow a fire from spreading and could allow you more time to escape.
When exiting a house that is on fire, close those doors also. By closing these doors, this will aid in slowing down the fire and helping to keep it from spreading as quickly as it would with an open door.
ONCE OUT-STAY OUT! Many fire deaths are a result of someone going back into a burning structure.
Create a home escape plan and a meeting place. Make sure everyone is familiar with it and practice it often, especially with children in the home.
